Day 3 of home school

I am soooooo impressed with Ella. We are just 3 days into home school and she can already make a capital E in starting to write her name. She still has to work on the lla part, but at this rate I think she will have it down pat by Friday!

Currently Maya is in time out for eating her pencil eraser (several warnings first) and Ella is making a book about the letter X. One of the pictures in her X book is a fox. She said 'just like fox news!' Haha. I'm sure her daddy would be proud. We just have to cut and then staple!

One other newsworthy note is Ella stayed dry all night and Maya peed in the potty again today with Daddy! YAY big girls :)

P.S. On Friday the 3rd as I anticipated Ella did indeed write her full name by herself!

Home school

Monday, August 30, 2010 marked the first day of pre-school / home school for Ella and Maya.
They love it! The letter of the week is Xx, the number is 1 one, and the theme is 'School Days'.
They are learning the Lord's Prayer with the sign of the cross, signing the alphabet, the pledge of allegience, and the daily calendar among many other things.
My babies are growing up!
xo

Potty Dance!

M.E went pee pee in the potty for the first time last night!
The girls were in the tub and Maya stood up and said she was about to go and I said "WAIT!" I set her little Elmo seat on the toliet, wrapped her in a towel and she went! YAY MAYA!!

The mural from start to finish

Pizza party on the last day!
Tess and Ella
Grace and Maya
Here it is....
Tess, Grace and Joy from Louisville Visual Arts spent the summer designing and painting a whimisical and fun fairy mural for the side of  our dreary garage.

Kinda cool huh? xo

Ella

The nurturer, the mother, the responsible one. She mimics the good, she mimics the not so good. This child knows right from wrong, has a strong compass and will go far in life leading others where ever she chooses to go.

Maya

Maya recited the alphabet perfectly with zero help. She then counted to ten. :D

Maya

Maya has developed a new thing that seems to be sticking around.

She is the most petite little dynamo at 25 lbs 1 oz and 33 inches long. Whenever she is sitting no matter where she is, she has her legs straight and crosses her ankles. Too stinking cute.

She also dialogues along with familiar movies. Scott was watching 'The Princess and the Frog" with the girls today and Maya was repeating the lines along with the characters verbatim. :)

She talks quite clearly and has her own thoughts and ideas.
