Family comes to Kentucky

Last Friday the 16th, Aunts Barb and Betty, Uncles Julian and Doug + cousin Lexi flew out from Nebraska to spend the weekend with us.

Friday night we went swimming/hot tubbing/drinking at the Embassy, and ate Buca's in Betty and Dougs suite.

On Saturday we all went to Keeneland in Lexingon with the hopes of seeing some horse races. 30,000 people smashed together all we really got to see was the backs of peoples heads. :)
That evening we got a sitter and the adults went out for a nice dinner at Stony River.

Sunday morning Mommy took the family minus Ella and Maya (daddy stayed home with them) to Lynn's paradise cafe for a nice brunch on Sunday and then to Cave Hill Cemetary in search of the KFC Colonel Sanders grave site. (No such luck) :) Ella entertained Aunt Barb and Uncle Jules at her soccer game and then we followed up with gardening/landscaping and grilling out.

Everyone headed out on Monday morning. It was a great weekend. One of the milestones was that Maya was weaned from Nee-nee. It has been a whole week and it seems to be a thing of the past. Just before her 2nd birthday. Yay big girl Maya!

Ella's 1st soccer game

What a beautiful day for Ella's very first soccer game ~ Sunny and 70 ~ Just a great day.
Ella had so much fun. She even made her 1st goal! Yes she did. We told her to keep her eye on the ball and to kick it in to the net and so she did! We just failed to tell her that she needed to wait until the ref blew the whistle 1st. LOL :)

Home Sweet Home

Where oh where do I begin?

Sooooo much has happened in such a short amount of time. Scott went back in to the hospital for testing overnight last week, and his heart is healing. :)

Ella created these lovely towers for her dad when he went in for the long 2 week stay, and saved them for him when he returned. They sat for the entire 2 weeks untouched which was a miracle in its self. :) Daddy loved them!

Ella is now 95% potty trained. Only wearing a pull up at night. She also converted into a toddler bed, AND got her ears pierced today! She told me that she is all grown up now. Oh Lord help us all!!! (I love EVERY minute of it!)

Ella and I went to the mall today, had lunch, got her ears did and bought lots of girly stuff for her and M.E. Fun times! I told her that we would be doing these kinds of things for the next 60 years and having a ball. This is just the beginning. :)

We went to Newport on the Levee and saw some sharks one afternoon. It was a nice day.

We also got a new roof, gutters, windows, siding, and a backdoor. Yay!! We officially have a maintenance free exterior. Hip hip hurray!!
