Rainstorm fun!

All this rain makes things nice and GREEN!!

Maya's baby tree

Ella's baby tree

The rainstorms stopped for a bit so the girls who have been cooped up could spend some energy running around. They had a ball and everything is so GREEN!! Had to get a photo of the new lil' baby trees the girls planted they are loving the rain!

Boo boo's galore!

Ella signing Lucia's cast

Lucia's momma signing her cast

The girl's 1st ER visit award goes to... Ella Grace!

All glued up!

Maya had to have a bandaid too!

Ella's got a boo boo mommy!!

Today is Aunt Barb's birthday, and we had just gotten off the phone with her when the girls were rough housing in their room and Ella starts crying running into the kitchen with blood all over her face.

Some how (she blames Maya, imagine that) her forehead connected with the corner of the wooden doll rocker/bed in their room.

Daddy stayed home with Maya and Mommy took Ella to the new Kosair Childrens Hospital ER on Brownsboro Road. A wonderful facility. Ella exclaims as were driving in "Mommy! Look at all of the colors!!" Very clean, bright and happy :P
.
Luckily for us it was not a busy time and we got right in. They have flat screen TV's over the beds with in demand movies. Ella chose to watch 'Finding Nemo'. What a great diversion tactic that was! The Dr. irrigated the wound and then applied 'Dura-bond' to seal her back up. We used the same thing at HCMW to glue hair to people heads. LOL!

She was a complete trooper, not showing any anxiety, calm, polite, and charmed the ER nurses and doctor with her delightful way of being. They commented at how refreshing her presence was as we were leaving and how so many children don't seem to know what manners are. (the nurse's words, not mine) Ella said please and thank you in a pleasant manner with out prompting, and it was noticed!

We stopped at Walgreens on the way home to get some fun band aids. Hello Kitty, Disney Princess's and Tinkerbell. Ella also picked out a new pair of flip flops for her and her sister and brought some neat stickers home for her sister that the ER Nurses gave her.

Mommy made Ella her favorite breakfast sandwich when we got home (We hadn't even ate yet!) We got caught in a huge thunderstorm on the way back which was a lil' scary but cool too. Lot's of thunder and lightening and so much rain that we could not see much at times. Ella says as we are buried in the storm that we should have done all this running around yesterday. HAHA. Yeah, maybe next time the girls should check the forecast before they decide to horse around!
Yesterday Ella slammed Mayas fingers in the window sash in the play room.
We have had two days of fun in a row! (not)

Ella popped the lenses out of an old pair of sunglasses and has been wearing them everywhere we go. Also in one of the photos you can see a bit of blood on her dress.

Earlier in the week the DeMaso family came over for a playdate and we all got to sign Lucia's new cast. The kids were playing a few days prior and Lucia broke her elbow doing a cartwheel.

Ahh...parenthood...Lord help us all!!
XOXO

Sick baby girls

Took Maya to the Dr. yesterday for some of the yuckiest eye drainage I have ever seen. Her eyes are so swollen and irritated. Thick green gunk keeps coming out of both eyes continously.  Turns out she has an ear infection in addition to the pink eyes and was put on pulmacort in addition to the albuterol she was already on. (For her breathing treatments in her nebulizer)

We are pretty positive that it is not just pink eye and is some awful allergies. The Dr. gave us some antibotic drops for Ella just in case her eyes flare up. Which would indicate that it may not be allergies?? Who knows.

Today Ella is vomiting and has dry heaves. She developed a bit of a rash around the back of her neck last night. Who knows if its related or not though? In the midst of dry heaving she looked up at me and told me this was the worst day ever! Broke my heart. Very tough seeing your babies sick and not being able to fix it on the spot. :(

stuff

Was cutting Scott's hair today when Ella excitedly exclaimed to her daddy that she could see his skin through his hair. :D

Later while watching Cailou she pointed out that her daddy wears the same shoes as Cailou's grandpa. *hahahaha* Wonder if she's trying to say something. :D

Tree planting

The girls holding 2 trees each

Thad helping Maya plant her trees

Getting her 2 trees just right

I did it Mom!

Ella and Thad getting ready to place her 1st tree

and now for the second one

One down, one to go

Getting tree #2 ready

YAY trees! Thanks Thad!

What a gorgeous and productive day we had! Daddy spent the morning and early afternoon at the office and the girls and I cleaned the house, cleaned out the garage, transplanted 2 hydrangeas, and planted 4 trees that our neighbor Thad gave to the girls.

Thad has a tree in his yard that his son Matt planted when he was young and now its huge!

I am grateful for these early years with the girls. We are blessed to be able to have them at home until they go to kindergarten. For the rest of their lives they will HAVE to be somewhere, be it school or a job. The first 5 years of their little lives is the only time that they can just BE.
